ISHAM is a world wide organization that represents all clinical scientists and fundamental researchers with interest in fungal diseases and fungus-like infections. ISHAM also serves as an independant society that is non-political and non-discriminatory. It exists solely to encourage and facilitate the study and practice of all aspects of medical and veterinary mycology.

The membership of ISHAM comprises individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, including clinicians, veterinarians, biochemists, molecular biologists, immunologists, botanists, pathologists and laboratory technologists.
