Symposium «One Health / Une seule santé», program and concept, through the lens of human and social sciences
The DIM1Health Project « One health : one world, one health »is one of nine projects labeled and funded by the Ile de France region, as part of its research policy. It aims to reinforce the theme of human and animal infectiology in Île-de-France, particularly in vaccinology, and the integration of a social and economic dimension to health. This major scientific project targets actions that simultaneously develop the areas of screening-surveillance-treatment-prevention-prediction, while taking into account societal demand.
Considering the importance of the social dimension of health and the need for reflexivity, the DIM1Health proposes, during the symposium, to question the construction of the notion of “one health”, with the horizons but also the injunctions it opens and to show what the human and social sciences can contribute to the common debate, through three transversal axes (“One health, one epistemology of a notion”, “controversies in public health” and “circulation crises, pathogens and medicines”) and a round table.
